Little Dolly

I think this is why mom's like having little girls, because we can dress them up like little dollies... except their real!! Hahaha! Zoe is such a good sport, but she has to get used to this, mom's just getting started!

Ok, and here are some in color. I know I am posting a ton of random pictures... but isn't that what parents do?

These were taken today. Yeah, I am so glad I got her eyes open. It's been so hard to get her to keep her eyes open with the flash. Isn't she so cute???

First Walk

Here is our first walk with Zoe. I get a little cabin fever if I'm in the house for too long, so I thought a walk would be good.

I am showing Taylor with her in the bjorn to show you how tiny she is... she barely fits in the darn thing. But you ask how I got Taylor to wear the Bjorn... actually... I have to fight him for it. He likes to wear it. I think he is jealous of all the mother-daughter bonding we get to do that I think he trys to make up for it. Plus If I wear it for too long my back starts to hurt.

Contrary to popular belief, Taylor's ability to dress well and pull of his "metro-sexual" wardrobe, really does stop there. He's not really down with all the girly things that you can buy for babies. The more neutral things the better. We bought that bjorn off of Craigslist for thirty bucks. A couple was selling it and they had hardly used it. It's practically brand new! We were pretty stoked about our sweet deal. Anyways... it was fun, but our little peanut wasn't enjoying the scenery to well, she mostly saw dad's shirt and then soon passed out after that.

Nanna's Quilt

So for those of you who don't know, my mother is a professional quilter. She's been sewing for over 25 years now and has made over 100 quilts. She's been published in Quilters magazine and she even has her own quilt company. So the quilt that you are seeing here is Zoe's very own personalized baby quilt from Nanna Corbin. My sister named it "Starburst" because of the bright colors... and as my mom says... She's our "Star that burst onto the scene." She's not allowed to really use it according to me, but we will see how she does when she gets older. No poopie stains are allowed on it... I think what we will do is hang it on the wall. Nanna wants her to use her quilt, but with all good intentions... I just don't want it to get ruined. Anyways.. isn't it beautiful? It matches my crib bumpers.. .also complimentary of Nanna Corbin. (Can be viewed in older posts). Thanks Nanna.. Zoe already misses you.

Nanna Corbin and Zoe

This is my mom. She came out for a week to help me with the baby. She was the designated burper and diaper changer. She was so cute with her and so much help to have around. There is nothing like your own mom teaching the ropes of motherhood. This is the first grandbaby on ourside of the family...so you can imagine the excitment for all of us to have her. I'm sad she hasn't been able to meet any other family yet, but will soon be reunited with my parents and Taylor's family come her blessing day. I drove my mom home just yesterday, after a tearful good bye, I drove all the way home in tears and then bucked up for the first night on my own. I am happy to report that everything went well and that I am some what confident that I just might be able to do this mom thing. So far so good. Oh ya, one of the pictures of my mom holding the phone is her talking to my family ... the only connection to Zoe (other than the internet) this was a frequent scene in our house over the last few days. Grandpa, aunties and uncles were so excited to hear her hiccup or cry... it was cute to see them react to her little noises.

Commentary

Ok the below pictures are pretty much self-explanatory, but I couldn't get the commentary on the same post for some reason. So here is our little munchkin... now 11 days old today. Today was her offical due date. I can't believe how time has flown. She is getting some more meat on her now and is starting to open her eyes more and more. I can't seem to get a decent picture of her with her eyes open. She always squints because of the flash or I just miss her facial expression a second too late. She is so far sleeping like a champ. She is on a 3 hour schedule and eating wonderfully. Now that I am more regulated with my milk nursing isn't as painful and much more managable. She is still really little, but looks so much bigger from when we brought her home. I am already sentimental about her growing and want her to slow down. I can't seem to get enough of her and love this newborn stage. She's such a joy to have in the family and can't wait to see her develop into her personality. More pictures will come soon.

More Zoe update!
